Presenters in alphabetical order:
Poet Cheryl Denise, author of two books of poetry and a spoken word poetry CD, will present What's in Your Blood? where you will explore memories that open us up to the past and anchor us to the present. In Discipline versus Muse participants will learn the need for structure and creativity.
Sarah Dooley, winner of the 2012 PEN/Phyllis Naylor Working Writer Fellowship and author of two children's books, will explore strategies for writing and revising a novel geared for children in Writing and Revising Your Middle Grade Novel. Learn how to gain and keep the attention of your audience in Connecting with Young Readers .
Christina Freeburn is the author of the Faith Hunter Scrap This Mysteries Series and the inspirational romantic suspense series New Beginnings. Christina will share tips, ideas and methods to help you trim excess words, strengthen your plot and characters, and manage the timeline to Get Your Novel Into Shape. In Avenues of Publishing, she will discuss new technologies in the world of publishing and how to find the method that best fits your goals and needs.
Award winning columnist and avid competitor, Karin Fuller, will discuss the strategies writers can take to increase their chances to win a writing competition in Contests. Participants in Flash Memoir will explore succinct ways to approach difficult topics in nonfiction.
Bram Stoker Award-winning author and editor, Michael Knost, will present Writing and Submitting Fiction for Anthologies and Magazines where he will break down the elements needed to replace rejections with acceptance letters and learn to show, not tell, in External Conflict v. Internal Conflict.
Sandy Tritt, founder and CEO of Inspiration for Writers, Inc., an editing and critiquing service for writers, will bring dialogue to life in her presentation He Said/She Said and teach us character emotion and how to control it in Pass the Tissues.
