Ten Minute Play Contest

The Charleston Stage Company, in conjunction with Festivall Charleston has developed the new Location!Location!Location! Play Project. The purpose of the project is to explore the dramatic possibilities of some of Charleston’s unusual spaces and to get theatre off the stage and into the public places.

For the 2006 play competition, the space chosen is the first floor lobby of the Security Building (100 Capitol St.) at the corner of Virginia & Capitol. Specifically, playwrights will be asked to write a ten-minute play based on the enigmatic mural (SEE IMAGE) in the lobby of this office building.

The plays will be read and judged by out of state judges who will consider (among other things) creative use of the dramatic possibilities of the space. The three top plays will be given a staged reading in the lobby of the building on Saturday June 24, 2006 as part of Festivall Charleston

Please see the Location! Location! Location! site for more details.
